Hotel Thistle Cheltenham

Friedly, professional staff. Good position for touring area and for visiting Cheltenham

Only negative? Possibly back rooms quieter than front

Typically bland hotel in need of a bit of refurbishment. Room was clean, although showing some significant 'wear and tear' and also noisy from traffic noise outside. Staff were helpful and courteous. Nothing to distinguish this hotel from the hundreds of others and, if anything, a bit too far away from the city centre to justify its price.

The first room did not have a bed in it which I found mildly amusing until I was given the second room which was disgustingly dirty with the mattress and bedding smelling so badly of years of accumulated smoke that I had to open the windows and put towels on the pillows to try and dampen the stale smell to sleep. Reception staff of no use as it is now a 'non smoking' room. This is probably my sixth stay here and defiantly the last.

Great stay and fantastic value for money. Customer service was some of the best I have received when staying in the UK. Would diffently return to this hotel.

Please could you make the signage on the roundabout clearer as there was no wind to fly the flags and we missed the exit several times!!

Great location and staff really friendly and helpful.

The only negative thing about the hotel is having to pay extra for your parking.

Rooms rather dated and in need of refurb. Noisy drunk guests shouting on corridor at 3am (not hotels fault I suppose ) could do with signs asking people to consider others when coming in late.
