Hotel was lovely only down side was no parking facitilty for us when arrived and had to park down the road which was not convinient. Also that the car park was chargeable.
Breakfast we felt was a bit on the pricey side and that it was not the greatest did not help, bacon and eggs were dried up, on the whole we enjoyed our stay.

could not have expected more in terms of value for money, hotel centrally located and in easy walking distance for all exeter has to offer.
slight moan about the cost of car park,I thought £8 excessive for an overnight stay NCP parks were much cheaper

Lovely big room. Very clean. Pleasant reception staff.
My stay was at the weekend and I was woken both nights around 2 - 3 am by drunken noises from the taxi ranks at station opposite.

Room was more spacious than we expected for a city centre hotel, with a large super-kingsize bed. Our room overlooked an inside courtyard, so it was really quiet. The public areas (reception, lounge, etc) were very attractive. Overall we were very pleased with our room.
The only negative was the lack of car parking - although this is a challenge for most city-centre hotels. However the car park at the Guildhall was secure and reasonably priced and only 3 minutes walk.

It took so long to actually check in it felt a bit like an indurance test, they also said they needed pre authorization from my credit card of £30 even thoug wehad already paid for the room, this I was told was in case we needed any room service etc? I have never had this before when staying in a hotel, The prices of any beverage etc was extortionate, The majority of the staff were fantastic. We had to pay an extra £8 for the privillege of parking there over night. The rooms were ok but dated I feel they are being pushed into being pc as there was no bibles in the room which I believe is our tradition and a shame to lose,

Excellent location. A magnificent piece of architecture that is put to good use for everyone to see & use. Rooms are clean. Iron & ironing board available in room, as is a safe. Bar, Tea & coffee facilities also available. Nice to check out at reasonable hour of 12 midday.
Fire doors are for our safety, however they bang really loud when inconsiderate people dont close their doors gently. Corridors transmit people's voices too - again inconsiderate conversations in the corridor at early hours in the morning.
Sight see the newly revamped city centre. Lots of cafes & bars to relax in; museum is currrently being refurbished but is a good museum generally. Cinemas, theatres & clubs to visit. A walk to the quay for antique shops and coffee. Here you can hire bicycles, paddle boats and canoes to go down the estuary towards 'Double Locks' pub for light refreshments.

We were upgraded to a de-luxe room which was just adequate so I'm not sure we'd have been happy with a standard rooom.

Absolutely fine in all respects (except one)

I was surprised to find that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Having been regularly staying in a number of hotels in the past I have come to regard this as a standard. A hotel of this quality should provide this facility as a matter of course
