Gumbet is a completely hideous place, unless you like a down-market Blackpool with heat. We've never seem so much cheap and tasteless tourist tat concentrated in one place. There is nothing remotely Turkish about this report at all, but everything aimed at pandering to the whims of the 18-30s crowd. You're constantly and aggressively approached by touts trying to sell you every manner of useless gift or dreadful coach trip, and they never give up! It's probably the worst Mediterranean resort we have ever stayed in, and would never go back. Sad, because on the whole, we found the Turkish people to be delightful.
This hotel was excellent value for money, with a very friendly staff and very good standard of cleanliness. Good, central location.
Unfortunately, bargain hotels in Gumbet attract the very worst type of tourist. As well as some very pleasant, reasonable guests, every negative British regional stereotype was also staying there. This meant groups of 18-30s shouting and screaming, banging doors, wearing stiletto heels on marble floors at 3, 4 and 5 am, without any due care or consideration for others. The management seemed powerless to do anything, though were very sympathetic. We stayed at this hotel because my parents had booked it, but they moved rooms three times to avoid this type of disturbance, yet never had one night's complete sleep.
Bodrum, Turgetreis.

Outside areas very clean. Breakfast very good for non vegetarians! Friendly staff
Beach heavily infested with the many and various males trying to force turkish baths, massages, boat and market trips etc on you ALL THE TIME!!

Rooms cleaned very late when we were usually in them changing to go out for dinner so had to use dirty towels a lot of the time Balconies of 2 friends rooms looked out about 10 feet of high walled area filled with building rubble, another in our group had a large room with no window which openned straight poolside area!!
Very close to beach. Small market en route to beach for gifts. Town very close and up only a small hill. Lots of restaurants and places to eat
