The location is good and the roof top pool is a good feature.

The food served at the hotel is well below acceptable standards, infact several meals served to us were inedible. The staff attitude and approach to guests is at 2 star hotel standards. Little effort is made to assist or engage with the guests. The cleanliness in the hotel is not of an acceptable standard, rooms are dirty, sheets are not always cleaned and the towels are riddles with holes.

The pool at this hotel is great. We loved our room and the cleanliness of the hotel was great. the staff at the poolside bar were great. Some grumpy staff throughout the hotel-- i.e. business centre, but overall wonderful. Our children loved the pool area. our room was great for all of us. Pool attendants and porters were great. Hotel is a great design. Breakfast buffet staff were friendly and welcoming. Helpful staff at door for taxis and directions. Rooms were clean and bathrooms great.

breakfast buffet was bit of a disappointment. Some grumpy staff. Security at front door touted cigars and places to eat. Outside rooms facing the road in front of the capital-- loud-- above traffic circle. Check in staff were just blah. Internet was slow but didn't really matter.

Great walking from hotel. Local market around the corner. Banks nearby. Old Habana nearby. Good places to eat nearby. Central and loud!

Location

Had to move room three times in a four night stay. On complaining that the rooms were noisy, was told I hadn't asked for a quiet room. Prostitutes in hotel bar. Public relations manager thought this was just amusing. Having stayed at similar top priced hotels in Cuba, conclude that paying more doesn't give added value. Stay cheap.

Pleasantly modernised hotel in Havana Vieja, convenient for strolls around the city. Outward looking rooms quite noisy due to no double glazing (but not unpleasant). Water pressure too low for reasonable shower (thought this was a Cuba issue, but we moved to a cheaper hotel which had fine showers). Lovely roof top pool.

A nice enough hotel but we were disappointed because we had been expecting something very special.The room we were booked into was adequate in size (not particularly large) and facilities but very noisy - instead of the garden view advertised our view was directly into an enclosed atrium-style piano bar, on the same level, and the music was so loud that we could hardly talk to each other. The hotel happily changed our room the next day, but as we were only staying 3 nights a large part of our time there had already gone by then. This hotel seems often to be described in reviews as 'cool' - for us, the abiding sense was of understated 'safe' decor and furnishings, and the clientele was mostly over-60's. While the restaurant was quite pretty, the food was poor and not true to menu description (eg 'honey-glazed barbecue ribs of pork' turned out to be a thick slab of grilled pork fillet, slightly undercooked, followed by severe stomach upset!). The situation was very good, pool was definitely a plus point, and the staff were exceptional, but this hotel is certainly NOT the best in Havana and we would not choose to stay here again - there are so many more characterful buildings in Havana Vieja. Although I have had to fill in the 'Who would you recommend...'box in order to submit this form successfully, I would not recommend this as a first choice to anyone
