    Reception staff were polite, helpful Room was decorated well Cleanliness of the room was good Good complimentary contents in the mini bar fridge Great location

    The bar was poorly presented Communal area looked a little tired Newcastle isn't a car friendly city

    Excellent sevice. Room was cleaned everyday nice and early and fridge replemished also every day. Staff were polite and the gym/spa was a welcomed bonus! Would definetly stay at this hotel again.

    My room was on first floor and the walk and the 3 small flights of stairs too get to the room was too much ;-(

    A lovely comfortable room

    Eggs turned out not to be free-range so I didn't have them. I find this v disappointing. I think free-range eggs in hotels should be industry standard. Also, the spa was being cleaned at the time so we couldn't use it which was v disappointing.

    very friendly staff and beautiful classic hotel, great breakfast, excellent location

    too small bed, not set up for 2 persons as ordered, poor nights sleep undermined the positives

    Great to find a modern room in a traditional building Free WiFi was an unexpected bonus and made me think of the chain positively - like they weren't trying to milk me for every penny.

    Quite stylish period design Hotel,

    Decor dated and need of painting in some areas, could easily be improved. Room at front of Hotel was quite noisy

    very good facilties

    no air conditioning in rooms which meant anything above 3rd floor got very hot
