Hotel badly in need of an overhaul. Good potential and leisure facilities but poorly maintained and managed. No showerhead in bathroom and staff were not very knowledgable. Room service was prompt and good quality food at a reasonable price.

Staff were generally friendly and professional.
Bed was abysmal. Much better mattresses in £29 travel lodge. Room decor tired. Bathroom chocolate brown - looked like 1980s bathroom suite. Check in was muddled - no record of my colleagues booking until he produced paperwork to prove it (computer error blamed).
It is amazing the diversity regarding the friendliness of staff. Some are all the time, some put on a false smile and a couple are genuinely friendly

The room and bathroom could do with bringing up to date. Swap the outdated bed linen for comfortable duvets. Improve the evening menu choice as it gets a bit boring eating a carvery every night with a choice of one other thing. Buy a higher grade of food in the restaurant, for example the sausages for breakfast make "Premier Inn" sausages look like "tesco Finest". The first hotel where you have to pay to use the swimming pool, so I don't use it.
