This is one of the few occasions that we have felt obliged to write and complain about the hotel in which my husband and I have stayed. The Plantage Hotel in Amsterdam should be inspected by yourselves, without giving them prior warning. We booked an attic room, knowing that it was cheaper than the other rooms available, but under the assumption that it was in a two (2) star hotel. As we have run bed and breakfast facilities ourselves, so we are well aware of the laws for fire hazards. The room we were put into was Room 37 and the windows were fixed closed. This is by law a fire hazard! It was a very hot weekend and when we asked if we could be moved into one of their other attic rooms, the Russian manager/owner refused and said that we had booked via the internet and that was the room we had to stay in. As we had pre-paid you, we were compelled to stay in the Hotel and the assigned room. The heat was unbearable. We had to leave the room early in the morning and stay out until 11:00 pm at night when we could eventually tolerate entering the room in order to sleep. Further, the room was not serviced once in all the three days that we were there, the beds not made up and the dusbin not emptied. When my husband asked the Russian manager/owner for a reciept for the nights that we stayed in the hotel, he refused and told my husband that he did not issue reciepts to people who have booked with him "somewhere on the internet." As we work on ships and were in transit from one ship to another, we have to present signed reciepts to our Fleet Manager in order to claim expenses. Sadly it appears that we will not be able to claim for the Plantage Hotel Expenses. I highly reccomend that you look into to this and let us know the results.

Chambre grande Personnel sympathique
Douche avec écoulement par terre,sans plateau douche ni cabine. Lit avec vieux draps et couverture Accès difficile à la chambre avec petits escaliers et forte pente
Se puede fumar en las habitaciones, de ahí el olor en la habitación.
La situación del hotel.
El hotel está viejo. La habitación también es vieja, y no tiene olor agradable. Lo mejor es el baño, tienes un utensilio para achicar el agua de la ducha ya que es el propio suelo del baño sin mampara.
