Hotel Molino de Santillan

Located miles from civilisation, this hotel promised much but delivered little. The room and bathroom were acceptable but the balcony left a lot to be desired with broken furniture, dead plant. Our first night we dined in the restaurant - wow! We were given a basic choice of 3 starters and 3 main courses verbally by the waitress (yet later diners were given menus), the portions were tiny, the first bottle of wine we ordered was corked and the replacement which cost EUR32 frankly we've had better wine for EUR5 per bottle!! The bar apparently closed at 7pm so we went out our remaining 2 evenings only to be almost attacked by a huge dog when returning - my wife was really shaken the first time so the second time I dropped her at the door to run in before running the gauntlet of parking the car and walking to the hotel! Sorry this is not a 4* hotel - 2 at best - I reckon they make their money from weddings etc due to the rural setting but we seemed to be an inconveninece at best!!
