Evening meal to rushed and quality not the best go for lunch time buffet and have nice quality unrushed dining

The hotel has a beautiful location and is very comfortable, although it would benefit from installing air-conditioning in the bedrooms. Breakfast is good and the lunch buffet was OK and both meals can be eaten outside on the terrace overlooking the sea. However, the hotel is badly let down by a number of its staff who seem to regard guests with thinly veiled contempt. The dining room staff are particularly bad, although some reception staff were also very offhand. Smiling and politeness seem to be banned! You are not made to feel like a welcome guest, rather that you are an intrusion into their day. The exception to this are the domestic staff who are friendly and do a great job. There is a turndown service at night and toiletries are replaced daily so you never go short.Another thing we didn't like was that local teenagers came up from the beach to use the pool and the security guard turned a blind eye to this. A Spanish guest complained about their behaviour and only then did he ask them to leave - although he then conveniently walked away and they returned. This happened most days. Our room was above the public beach and had a lovely view, but we didn't appreciate being wakened before 5am on two of our five mornings by the very noisy beach-cleaning vehicle which went up and down for ages!! I think this hotel survives on its past reputation and would really still rather be catering to the rich and famous who stayed there in the past. I would not stay here again simply due to the appalling attitude of the staff.
