Good location, right in the middle of Manhattan
Prior arrival I made phone calls to confirm information and it always sounded like it was a bad time to call. At check-in the employee barely seemed to care about me. They told me my room would be ready by noon as I arrived very early and it finally got ready around 3pm. When I turn on the water for the shower the pipe were banging against the wall as the pipes were not attached to the wall. Luckily I'm not high maintenance and made it through but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
5th avenue and all Manhattan
cheap for new york city, but you got what you paid for, at least the towels and bedding were clean and the communal shower/rest room was reasonable, i did not feel squirmy about the state of the hotel,.
the downside was that there was a social security office within the hotel on the second floor, which just confirmed our initial opinion that it was a stop for welfare claimants, must say though that there was no feeling of insecurity about the place
