Hotel La Gioconda

en general no está mal para lo que es un hotel turístico en italia. pero lo de cbrarnos por cada día de cuna sin previo aviso me parece una estafa digana de estafadores

que está muy bien situado

en el momento de irnos nos dicen que tenemos que pagar 10 eur diarios por la cuna de la habitación, con toda la caradura del mundo. El buffet salado del desayuno eran tranchettes, con eso lo digo casi todo

está en el centro

El desayuno es muy flojo.

El hotel era en Florencia y estaba céntrico. Pero allí todo es céntrico.

No tiene ascensor. En el baño no cabe casi ni una persona.

Está cerca de todo lo que hay que ver en Florencia.

Superb location short walk from station, Duomo and all else central. Also interesting history Good clean linen and towels, but shower was small and grubby and breakfast was not good (unless you like sweet buns and fancy biscuits)..

For Uffizi, Accademia, Pitti pallace/Boboli Gardens it is worth booking tickets ahead on line. This saved us over 6 valuable hours in queues - yes you pay a premium, but the facility to walk in almost without waiting is a huge advantage. Thoroughly recommend CAF coach tours if visiting Siena, San Gimingnano, Lucca etc - buses run from corner of square at the end of the road and the guide service is superb.

You could not wish for a more central hotel - in walking distance of everything that Florence has to offer. No more than 5 minutes from the station - ideal position. At such a low price it would be wrong to expect too much and the hotel is adequate. Breakfast is the same each day, but sustaining and plentiful. Staff are pleasant and efficient. You get what you pay for simple, clean accommodation and no frills.

This is not a hotel for those expecting luxury accommodation. Probably in the Summer it will be very stuffy (mobile air conditioning units in rooms). However remember you will be in the heart of the City and within 5 minutes of the Station - on a very busy road. The front rooms can be noisy and if you do not like stairs ask for a lower floor room.

La Gioconda is in the middle or everything - The Duomo less than 2 minutess; Uffizi 5 minutes; Ponte Vecchio, Accademia and Santa Croce 15 minutes .... shops enough for everyone and art oozing out of every corner. Eating in Florence is very expensive but in such a tourist orientated city this is to be expected - March 2010 about 30 euros ahead for 2 courses with wine.

Helpful staff. Excellent location. Very clean room. We stayed nine days and enjoyed them all.
