The cod and chips is better in my local in Northern Ireland and half the price. In Ireland we do not pay for a hotel bus to and from the airport. The lack of staff. I know that keeps cost down but it would have been nice to have at least one British person on duty. The cost was far too high for the service received.

The shuttle bus service to and from the airport is good. The breakfast was very good.
There was no spare blanket in the room and I was cold. When I rang reception asking them to bring me up another blanket (as I was already in bed) they said that they did not do room service (though they did bring up a blanket on my insistence). The kettle did not work in my room. This was disappointing to not be able to make a cup of tea after a long and exhausting flight from Malaysia. A staff member boiled me a kettle in another room as they were unable to give me a replacement kettle.

overall, given the price, the Hotel was more than satisfactory for my needs.
Friendly + helpful receptionist, clean and spacious room
food expensive for what it was, bed felt "cheap" (too light and spingy).

As I suffer from a bad back the most important thing I look for in a hotel and whether I would return is the quality of the bed/mattress. Unfortunately the bed was too soft. and so I did not really get a good night's sleep which I would have appreciated as I was going to a funeral the next day.

Great place. Great service. Excellent restaurant. Great location (a step away from Standsted airport)

once again paid with scottish currency and a foreign worker had to check it was ok!!! Perhaps staff could be told as long as it says sterling its not fake but then I guess the further south you go the less chance that they have been any further than "Watford Gap" !!!!
