we didnt get to stay in the copthorne, they didnt have our booking, and after trying on numerous occasions trying to sort it with one of your staff who kept telling me someone would ring me back but never did,i had to sort it all out through the copthorne who got us another hotel, but considering we booked a 4* hotel in newcastle with gym and pool, andended up in a 3* hotel with no pool or gym and was in gateshead,we wont be using your site again

Extremely good value for money for a very large room with great views and on-site cheap parking which is great for a city centre hotel
Bedrooms beginning to look a bit tired and must be due a refurbishment soon, however given the great size of the room and bed and other facilities this was not a major issue, and due to it's location we had an extremely enjoyable stay and found it excellant value for money

Helpful staff, one of whom made a particular effort to sort out a problem we had wih our room. Location is superb, as is the view from bedroom windows.
We initially were allocated a room on the third floor, which had superb views from a big bay window right over the river. Problem was that the windows could not be opened, and with a sunny day, the room heated up to an unbearable level - and this was in March! The air conditioning was not working either, so the result was a very uncomfortable night. I actually felt quite claustrophobic, being unable to open a window. Having said that, the hotel were sympathetic and changed us the following day to a room with a balcony. It was a bit faded, but very comfortable, and a joy to have an open door to that glorious river view.

I arrived at the hotel to be told there was no room available for me and that they had been sold out for weeks, despite me having a booking confirmation from your company. Copthorne arrange an alternative hotel in Newcastle, much to my inconvienience ,and the whole episode was time consuming and frustrating. This is the first time I have booked a hotel through your company, and because of this experience it will probably be my last. Regards Alex Russell

The room was very cold thermostat was broken advised reception who said they would place a Hester in the room as aware of problem and hotel is undergoing revamp. The heater was not put in the room I would not recomand this hotel to anyone.

very nice stay enjoyed it
Good location, clean, and helpful staff. We did complain about the room temperature and the staff did offer us an alternative room to sleep in.
The rooms look a bit tired and our room was uncomfortably hot especially thru night apparently there was a problem with the heating/air con. The pool area was somewhat stark and the sauna and jacuzzi were not working. Only one lift was working therefore at times it was quicker to take the stairs though not as convenient. On the second night of our stay we were woken in the early hours by a noisy group of men in the corridor.
