We travelled to London, from South Wales, through the snow on Saturday 18th Dec. and got stuck at Bath having eventually to turn back. We rang the hotel to discuss our options - sadly, the person who answered the phone was particularly unhelpful, and when we finally got home, We spent more than £400 for three nights.

The position next to Trafalgar Square cannot be beaten.

The room was very small for a double, I have seen bigger wardrobes. The fittings were tired and ragged, the furniture fabric was worn in places, and the several tiles in the bathroom were cracked and all fittings had seen better days, as well as being tiny. By 8pm there was no hot water for a bath. The tall casement windows have secondary glazing only, and the wind whipped through the room, although luckily the heating system was very good if noisy. Our breakfast was extensive, but had obviously been hanging around for a while, so the bacon, sausages etc were a bit tough.

Loads, too many things to list.

The staff are very helpful and friendly - we had an issue with the electricity in the room, however although they could not immediatly fix it - their attempts were immediate and thereafter their handling of the matter was above and beyond our expectations.

Theatre, Covent Garden and shopping.

I have always liked this hotel. Standards dropped a little when it was sold by Thistle but have recently improved again. The staff (particularly the restaurant staff) are great, rooms nicely furnished and scrupulously clean. Water pressure was low when I was there so the bath took ages to fill - but not their fault (I went during the big freeze and they were suffering from problems with burst mains water pipes). Great hotel and thans to this site the price was affordable as well.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in, highly recommended. Staff were exceptional, thankyou for a lovely stay :)

Nice atmosphere at the hotel and friendly staff. The hotel could not be sitatuated better than this.

Very small beds and we are not big people!

Near everything - plenty of sightseeing and shopping possiblities

we usually have a three day break at a hilton hotel in london that includes dinner on the first night,the hilton offer,s were late going to press,so we chose Charing Cross we are glad we did no specail offers no meal included just a first class hotel

excellent location,beautiful decor

we stayed in room 508 the window would not close therefore it was very very noisy due to traffic and people outside

due to central location theatre,s restaurant,s museum,s and other places of interest are easily within walking distance

Central to theatreland and covent garden. Very quiet rooms and wonderful staff and surroundings.
