Superior rooms are well worth the extra cost. Reception staff and Concierge are friendly and professional. Very clean throughout - the cleaning staff must work very hard. Hotel has a lovely relaxed quality.
Slightly further from city centre than I would have liked. Breakfasts and breakfast staff were just OK. Dining room was without much atmosphere. Would liked to have seen a Table d'hote menu as well as the A la carte.
Get a taxi to the city centre (£6) or it's a 15 min walk.

Loved my 24 hours here - and will definitely be back!!
Was made to feel exceptionally welcome from the moment I arrived, till when i left. Being a single female on a business trip,lit was lovely to be made to feel so welcome by all members of the staff . Thoroughly enjoyed having a cocktail lesson, and chatting to the staff.... would definitey stay here again, in preference to some of the bigger hotels in Edinburgh, purely down to the personal touches....

Fantastic, friendly staff, lovely room - we had a free upgrade as it was my partner's birthday.
The bar area and breakfast room in the conservatory were a little tired and could do with a lick of paint. Minor criticisms, however.

Taxis and buses are easily available
From check in to check out, a totally stress free and enjoyable experience.
A taxi or bus ride into town for the more mature clients.
Nothing to do near the hotel but the city centre is only a few minutes away, and it is a beaufiful city .Very friendly people,good shoping and the guided bus tours are a must.
