La ciudad de Chamonix se encuentra ubicada al este de Francia, en la región Ródano-Alpes, departamento de Alta Saboya, a orillas del Mont Blanc.
La ciudad es reconocida mundialmente por ser un importante centro de deportes de invierno, además fue la sede de los primeros Juegos Olímpicos de Invierno en el año 1924, y en el año 2005 se disputó aquí la Copa Mundial de Esquí Alpino, por ello muchos llaman a Chamonix “La capital mundial del alpinismo y el esquí”.
Aquí se encuentra el pico más alto de Europa occidental, el Mont Blanc, con más de 4800 metros de altura, es el punto culminante de los Alpes y ofrece uno de los paisajes más bellos de Europa.
Pero la ciudad no ofrece sólo nieve, allí también podrás realizar diversas actividades tales como senderismo, avistamiento de aves o simplemente admirar las maravillosas vistas naturales que brinda Chamonix.
